Actors such as Ralph Fiennes, Michael Gambon, Jeff Goldblum and Josh Hartnett helped to draw crowds last year. Revenue from musicals rose 1 percent while play revenue dropped 1 percent, the society said. Musicals draw two-thirds of all theater-goers.
